For Ramadan and Islamic Awareness Campaigns with Warner Bros. Discovery Being BRG of 2023-2024.
During my time at Warner Bros. Discovery, I was also a proud member of Being-UK; a Business Resource Group (BRG) dedicated to championing diversity in ethnicity, cultures and faiths within the company.
In March 2024, I organised and hosted one of WBD's first series of events in celebration of Ramadan and Islamic Awareness Week which included a Hijab Try-On, Fasting Challenge & company Iftar and a Ramadan Q&A Roundtable production that were amazingly well received.
in this same year, Being was nominated for The Ethnicity Award in October 2024.
This was my first venture into project management and events and came with a lot of learning! But I would do it all again for the sake of a more inclusive, safe and fun workplace for all.
All the media and social campaigns were illustrated and designed by myself.

We challenged the office to try and fast or do a half fast for the day and then invited everyone to join us for iftar (meal to break fast) at sunset. We went through a small presentation just before we all got to share and enjoy our food.

I think this was a great step in the right direction - these initiatives really opened the doors to conversation and played an integral part in breaking down negative stereotypes driven by western media. We definitely need to see more events like these in the future at wbd.
